The content of the course includes the following topics:

* Part 1. Introduction to driver behavior and relevance for road safety
* Definition of driver (and road-user) behaviour
* Individual, societal and technological factors influencing driver (and road-user) behaviour
* Driver behaviour and road safety
* Human factors issues, following the introduction of driving automation systems

* Part 2. Theoretical framework for modelling driver behaviour
* Fundamental theoretical concepts for driver behavioural models
* Categories of driver behavioural models
* Applications of driver behavioural models

* Part 3. Foundations for qualitative and quantitative analysis of road-user behaviour
* Experimental design for assessing road-user behaviour
* Quantitative metrics for the analysis of road-user behaviour
* Qualitative metrics for the analysis of road-user behaviour
Litteratur

The literature for the course includes journal and conference papers, and standards issued by the International Organization for Standardization and the Society of Automotive Engineers. The relevant material will be provided at the start of the course.
