Sven Olof Ahlberg
Heritage consultant specialized in preservation and restoration of the 20th Century materials, such as concrete and steel. He has a degree in building conservation from Gothenburg University and is frequently used as a lecturer at several Swedish universities and institutions. Ahlberg is CEO and owner of Kulturbyggnadsbyrån i Sverige AB, a company specialized in historic concrete structures and buildings. In recent years he has among other projects conducted national surveys of historic Railway and Road bridges on behalf of The Swedish National Board of Transportation. Ahlberg has also published several books, for example: Bevara betongen and Våra broar - en kulturskatt.
Philippe Block is Professor at the Institute of Technology in Architecture at ETH Zurich, where he co-directs the Block Research Group (BRG) together with Dr. Tom Van Mele. He is director of the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) in Digital Fabrication, and founding partner of Ochsendorf DeJong & Block (ODB Engineering). Within the NCCR, BRG researchers develop innovative structurally informed bespoke prefabrication strategies and novel construction paradigms employing digital and robotic fabrication.
Kristine Ek has been an environmental specialist at NCC for twelve years and a post-doc researcher at Chalmers for two years. She is interested in sustainability assessment of infrastructure in a life cycle perspective. Her focus is on life cycle assessment and sustainability assessment for optimization of construction materials and infrastructure projects.
Karin Gäbel, Sustainability Manager at Thomas Concrete Group. With wide experience in cement, concrete and sustainability, Karin manage and develop the sustainability work within the group. Thomas Concrete Group was first in Sweden to alreddy in 2012 offer concrete with a significantly lower climate impact. Karin Lundgren Karin Lundgren is professor in Concrete Structures at Chalmers University of Technology. Her research has been ranging from large scale (complete buildings) to small scale (material level) within the field of concrete structures. Her main focus is assessment of existing structures, and she is internationally well-known for her work on structural effects of reinforcement corrosion.
Ingemar Löfgren is R&D manager at Thomas Concrete Group and is an Adjunct Professor in Material integrated structural engineering at the Division of Structural Engineering, in the research group Concrete Structures, at Chalmers. Ingemar work with concrete and cementitious materials in many aspects, from fundamental materials research to structural applications.
Alexandre Mathern has been working as a structural engineer for NCC for ten years and as a PhD researcher at Chalmers for four years. He is interested in integrating computational structural design and analysis methods with multi-objective design optimization and life-cycle assessment to improve the sustainability, performance and buildability of structures. Both in research and professional practice, he has focused on developing and implementing innovative design and construction methods for bridges and other civil engineering structures.
Bodil Wilhelmsson, Project leader PhD, Cementa R&D. More than 20 years’ experience from cement manufacturing R&D activities. Worked with climate impact from use of raw materials and fuels for cement production as well as restoring of resources. Today focused on electrification projects aiming at developing enhanced carbon capture techniques.
