Sweden has a long tradition of comprehensive support for research and development and is currently well ahead of the rest of Europe in terms of investment. Accordingly, the Scandinavian country has been one of the world leaders in research, innovation, technology and competitiveness for years. It is no wonder that the country holds a particularly strong position in the field of nanotechnology. The city of Gothenburg with its two universities plays a key role in this field. Together with Prof. Dr. Dmitriev from the University of Gothenburg and Prof. Dr. Klement from Chalmers University of Technology, we want to present the activities of these two universities in the field of "Nanotechnology and Innovation" in this symposium, stimulate interesting discussions and encourage joint activities.
