MVEX01-18-04 Efficient implementation of Helmholtz equation with applications in medical imaging
In this project we will consider the finite element method (FEM) for the solution of Helmholtz equation in two and three dimensions. The solution should be implemented and tested on different real-life models in C++/PETSc in the existing software packageWavES (waves24.com). The main goal of the project is efficient implementation of Helmholtz equation (1) using finite element methods, and testing of the obtained solver in the already existed software package WavES. Visualization of the obtained results will be done in Paraview/GID. The project is a collaboration with the Department of Electric Engineering at Chalmers, and the expected application of the obtained software will be for fast detection of small-size tumours using microwave imaging.
See here for a more detailed description of the project.
Obs! För GU-studenter räknas projektet som ett projekt i Tillämpad Matematik (MMG900/MMG920).
