Symposium Villa Emo - The presence of history in architecture and the arts

The aim of the symposium is to develop and stimulate thoughts about the value and possibilities of historical knowledge regarding architecture, humanities and the arts. The aim is also to create possibilities for exchange between different institutions and countries around these questions.
The mini symposium at Villa Emo is held in collaboration between the institution of Architecture and Civil Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg, Sweden and the Fondazione Villa Emo Onlus at Fanzolo di Vedelago.
An exhibition by Johan Linton will be inaugurated in the evening Friday September 14.

The Symposium will be held Saturday September 15. It will begin at 9.00 and will finish in the evening.

The day will start with individual contributions from the keynote lecturers and finish with panel discussions.

A presentation of the Villa and of the exhibition will be held in relation to the symposium.

Both the symposium and the exhibition will be open to the public and announced at the collaborating institutions and locally.

Responsible for the symposium is Assoc. Prof Johan Linton, teacher in the theory and history of architecture at Chalmers University of Technology.
