DARPA Adaptive Vehicle Make (AVM) is a portfolio of programs that address revolutionary approaches to the design, verification and manufacturing of complex defense systems and vehicles. The portfolio consists of three primary programs: META, Instant Foundry Adaptive through Bits (iFAB) and Fast Adaptable Next-Generation Ground Vehicle (FANG).

The Automation group has been part of the iFAB program in collaboration with Intentional Software, We have studied and developed methods and tools for integrating product and production development concerns. A domain workbench was developed, called the Closed Loop Analysis Meta-language Program (CLAMP), which included
1) A set of common foundation meta-languages that describes a subset of relevant META Design languages and iFAB Foundry languages and relationships between them.
2) A meta-language analyzer that processes models in those languages and provides closed loop manufacturability feedback to designers.
3) Synthesized manufacturability constraints with a set of foundry libraries. The constraints (and design rules) are expressed independently of the chosen design language(s).
