John Wilkins has been Nordita visiting professor in Copenhagen for several periods and a frequent guest at Chalmers.
John Wilkins research area is condensed matter physics, in particular it theory. He has a long scientific record of valuable contributions from many different parts of this field, such as superconductivity, magnetism, transport properties, surface physics, valence fluctuations, and actinide metals. John Wilkins is an inspiring research leader and many young researchers have benefitted from his constructive advice and help. He has also been a very active promotor of the international scientific community in expert committees, at conferences and as editor of periodicals.
