The transition towards a climate- neutral Europe requires fundamental changes in the way we generate and use energy. Long-term, coordinated research, as well as education of students and professionals, are needed to build up knowledge and competences for a growing battery value chain in Sweden.

Chalmers battery research covers a large part of the battery value chain, including battery materials, cell concepts, cell component processing, battery systems and systems integration and recycling and reuse. These areas are supported with expertise in modelling, artificial intelligence and life cycle analysis.
