Collaboration is an important part of the innovation process. By interacting with businesses, organisations and public authorities, higher education institutions can disseminate research results and make them useful more quickly.

Our research institutes take on specific assignments that need support for a solution with the help of researchers, and Chalmers' innovation system contributes to bringing innovations to the benefit of society.

Development projects via research institutes

Please contact our research institutes for specific projects and with clear problems which you need help from researchers to solve. Our projects vary in size and are both short-term and long-term. The institutes do not publish scientific articles. They simply offer institutional support and supplement Chalmers’ research. They operate under conditions of confidentiality if necessary.

Chalmers Industriteknik, CIT

The Chalmers Industriteknik Foundation is a research institute that utilises research on behalf of Chalmers, industry and commerce and society at large. CIT offers support services for industrial development processes and works in all knowledge areas that Chalmers represents.

Fraunhofer-Chalmers Research Centre for Industrial Mathematics, FCC

FCC was founded by Chalmers and the German Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft as a commercial, non-profit Swedish foundation for developing and adapting mathematical methods to industry.

Do you have an idea that could be commercially viable?

Chalmers’ incubator and investment operation, Chalmers Ventures, is currently ranked in the top ten in the world among university-run incubators. Chalmers Ventures’ activities are unique in that it both runs programmes to develop sustainable start-up companies and offers investments to help these companies grow. Some of Chalmers Ventures’ incubation programmes are also open to external concept originators.

Innovation support

The Chalmers Innovation Office supports researchers and students in the innovation process, from knowledge to societal benefit.
