The research in the division of Structural Engineering comprise two main areas: Concrete Structures and Lightweight Structures.

Concrete Structures
Our research concerns the structural behaviour of concrete structures. It spans over wide scales, both in time - from milliseconds in impulse loading to more than hundred years in long-term deterioration, and in length - from corrosion penetration depths of micrometres to whole bridges with dimensions of hundreds of metres. Our ambition is to provide world-class basic and research education, and internationally leading research in Concrete Structures. Thereby, we contribute with high impact to a sustainable society with world-class educated researchers and engineers.

Steel and Timber Strutctures
The research group of Steel and Timber Structures focuses on the structural behaviour and performance of steel and timber structures as well as structures and structural elements made of composite materials.
