Organisation

The Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering comprises ten divisions for research and teaching staff, as well as one division for operational support staff. Research staff are also linked to the department's twenty research areas. 

Applied Acoustics

The mission of Applied Acoustics is to contribute to a sustainable built environment and infrastructure.

Architectural Theory and Methods

The division conducts research and education within the fields of theory, history and methods for architecture and planning.

Building Design

At the division for Building Design, research and teaching embraces planning, design, production, use and management of buildings.

Building Services Engineering

The research and education focuses on systems solutions for ventilation, heating, cooling, lighting, and control technology.

Sustainable Built Environments

The research within the Division of Sustainable Built Environments aim to minimize natural resource consumption and environmental impacts within the built environment throughout its entire life cycle. This also reflects our contributions to education in the courses we teach.

Construction Management and Engineering

The main commitment of our research is to contribute to a future that results in healthier products, more efficient processes and sustainable society.

Geology and Geotechnics

The research and education within the division is focused on geotechnical engineering, engineering geology and urban mobility.

Structural Engineering

The research in the division of Structural Engineering comprise two main areas, Concrete Structures and Lightweight Structures.

Urban Design and Planning

The Urban Design and Planning division researches and educates in urban design and planning in all scales.

Water Environment Technology

We carry out interdisciplinary research and education in the areas of water, environment, energy and sustainability.
