The main objective for the research in our division is to minimize natural resource consumption and environmental impacts within the built environment throughout its entire life cycle. This also reflects our contributions to education in the courses we teach.
What we do
The construction industry is one of the largest and most important sectors, and housing costs represent the single largest expense for the average family. In Sweden, one third of energy consumption is used to heat homes and public buildings.
There is a growing demand for simple and sustainable building design solutions, both in Sweden and abroad, with the aim of providing good environments with high standards and minimal resource utilisation in construction and management. This is also the focus of our teaching and the goal of our research area.
