Initiative Seminar on Quantum Technology

An Initiative Seminar by Chalmers Area of Advance Nanoscience and Nanotechnology
Quantum Technology aims at exploiting quantum physics for immensely powerful computations and simulations, to achieve ultra sensitive sensing and enhance privacy through physically secure communication. The 24 speakers, representing most aspects of this emerging field, will explain the basic ideas as well as the state-of-the art in this community. There will also be two poster sessions, where interested scientist and industry are welcome to present their work.

The european commission is launching a 1 billion euro flagship on Quantum Technologies with start in 2018. This initiative aims to place Europe at the forefront of the second quantum revolution now unfolding worldwide and Chalmers will be a part of it. An overview of the field and a tentative roadmap can be found in the Quantum Manifesto, signed by more than 3000 representatives from academia, industry and governmental and funding institutions. The content and potential impact of this flagship will be addressed in a panel discussion.

We welcome all quantum scientists in Sweden as well as the interested general public and students to participate in this exciting event.
