The academic year 2026/2027
An academic year at Chalmers is divided into two semesters, where each semester consists of two study periods. A study period consists of 7-9 study weeks and ends with an examination period.

Scholarships for enrolled students
As a student enrolled at Chalmers, you are eligible to apply for scholarships from the foundations and funds that Chalmers either administer or manage.

Before the exam
At Chalmers, you must be signed up for an exam in order to take it. You will be automatically signed up for the ordinary exam session, if you are registered on the current course instance. When taking a re-sit exam, you must sign up for the exam yourself in Ladok. You are always responsible for checking that you are signed up for exams.

On examination day
Here you will find practical information about what happens on the day of the exam, for example how you find information about your exam hall and what rules you must follow when you arrive there.
Here we explain how examinations are conducted at Chalmers

Register for a course
When the study period/semester begins, you need to be registered for your courses. You should register in Ladok whilst the registration period is open. Once you have registered for your courses in Ladok, you will have access to the course pages on Canvas and will be able to sign up for exams.

Course literature
Most courses have assigned reading (“course literature”) which you are expected to read over the duration of the course. You will find information on the assigned reading for your course either through the course syllabus or the course home page in the learning platform Canvas.
