Our research focuses on understanding how protein misfolding and protein self-assembly contribute to the pathology of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease.
Elin Esbjörner's group uses tools of biophysics and biochemistry in combination with live cell imaging, cell- and molecular biology to study the formation of amyloid fibrils and neurotoxic protein aggregates in vitro and in cellular models of human disease.
