AI and machine learning (ML) have tremendous potential for improving the healthcare system by standardizing care across health providers while personalizing it to individual patients.

This CHAIR theme addresses the technical challenges associated with the deployment of learning processes in healthcare and the processes necessary for providers to facilitate them. Technical and scientific challenges producing user-centered adaptive rehabilitation solutions are also addressed.
Major aspects of the theme include developing AI/ML methods with strong guarantees for sensitive decision processes, shaping the way data is collected to fit into learning systems, and integrating the technology into different parts of the healthcare system, making it useful for medical practitioners.
The theme will support and grow collaboration between health and ML researchers through a series of networking activities and academic workshops.
