KVVS is an interdisciplinary association established in 1778 with the main purpose to promote scientific research and support higher education. The activities are mainly focused on lectures, conferences and publications. Support to researchers is given through grants. In addition, several prizes are awarded on a regular basis. New scientific needs, not yet recognized in the regular university system, are identified and promoted. Members are elected through a dedicated selection procedure and authorized by the Academy’s membership.
