Quantum Internet provides a revolutionary step compared to the classical Internet by offering quantum applications such as Quantum secured communication and distributed quantum computing. Optical fibre network seems the only option to serve as the infrastructure for the future quantum Internet. In this presentation, we will discuss about the challenges facing by the optical fibre network to embrace the quantum era, and the potential approaches.   
 
BIO
Rui Lin received her Ph. D degree in communication system from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, in 2016. She held two consecutive post-doctoral
researcher positions in KTH and Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. She is now working as a Researcher in the Optical Networks research group, Department of Electrical Engineering in Chalmers. Her research interests include sustainability and security aspects of fibre communication network.
