Abstrakt finns enbart på engelska: Given a hyperbolic manifold, the spectrum of its Laplacian contains a great deal of information about its geometric structure. In this talk, I will present joint work with Will Hide, Bram Petri and Joe Thomas in which we use a model of random hyperbolic 3-manifolds to investigate the set of all possible spectral gaps -the first nonzero eigenvalues- of hyperbolic 3-manifolds of finite volume. The necessary background in 3-dimensional hyperbolic geometry will be provided.
