Abstract
This project focuses on the modelling and analysis of a high voltage system in an electrical aircraft, using equation-based and electrical models. The main objective is to compare various controller strategies for the voltage reference of an ACDC system within the high voltage network, with the aim of enhancing power quality.

To overcome the computational limitations associated with the high frequency of the system, simulations were performed by simplifying the model. To achieve this, several power studies were conducted on the inverter and rectifier, leading to subsequent simplifications. In addition to that a HPPC test is performed on a battery model.

Additionally, the power-up phase of the rectifier was evaluated by applying different voltage reference trajectories to minimize AC side ripple. It was found that using twice differentiable trajectories led to a significant reduction in ripples.

While the amplitude of the ripple caused by rapid load changes could not be significantly improved, the duration of this ripple was reduced by more than 600% compared to a static voltage reference. By implementing various controller strategies and evaluating the power studies, this project contributes to the advancement of power quality in high voltage systems of an electrical aircraft.
