Abstract:
This presentation explains system analysis of electric trucks from technical, economic, and user perspectives, and what the findings say about system design and operation. It highlights key challenges and argues that Sweden has likely passed the tipping point for electric truck adoption. Two milestones remain, but they appear almost inevitable.

The talk also offers an inside view of the transition process, explaining why its progress is often unclear. Public debate often gives a confusing picture, amplifying some issues while overlooking others. I will share thoughts on why this happens and how to still draw some useful conclusions.

Finally, the presentation discusses the complexity of analysing systems involving multiple organizations and disciplines. Universities can play a vital role in such transitions, but doing so requires another approach than in traditional technical research.
