Title: Microwaves vs Brain: Let's Turn Up the Heat

The brain is one of the most sensitive organs, particularly to thermal and metabolic imbalances, which is why exposure to external energies is typically minimized. Still, thermal therapy holds great promise in treating brain cancer—one of the most lethal malignancies, with poor survival rates.

Among heat delivery methods, microwaves are the most widely used in oncology, yet no clinical device exists for the noninvasive treatment of brain tumors. Over the past decade, our group has developed an ultra-wideband microwave technology with the potential to bridge this gap.

In this lecture, I will explore the rationale, current knowledge, potential clinical indications, and, most importantly, the roadmap to clinical implementation. I hope you’ll join me on this journey—very welcome!
