Frequently asked questions
Q: When is the deadline for submitting the form?
A: As soon as possible.
Q: Can I re-send the form?
A: Yes, you can. The last submitted form will be reviewed.
Q: Is the form a mandatory document?
A: No, it's not mandatory.
You will find a list of required documentation at Required documents (specific to Chalmers).
Q: Should I print and submit the form at my account or send it by email to Chalmers?
A: No, do not print the form.
When you save/submit the form it is made available to Chalmers admissions electronically.
Q: Why should I fill in the "Specific course requirement form"?
A: The form is not mandatory but recommended. If the Admissions Officer assessing your application deems that the course that you have referred to as fulfilling any given course requirement, does not satisfy the requirement he/she may still find another course that satisfies the requirement in your syllabus. Meanwhile, it is in your interest to ensure that you refer to the correct course as doing so will expedite and facilitate the processing of your application.
Q: What is my unique application number?
In order to complete the form you have to start with an application to the programme using the site universityadmission.se or antagning.se.
In the form you must use only your personal, unique application number (eight digits) to identify yourself. You will find it at Your account, My pages, choose Application and your "application number" is shown at the top. Don't confuse it with any of the "application code/s".
Q: What is CGPA?
A: CGPA stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average and is commonly stated in your transcripts or diploma.
Q: I don't have a CGPA, what do I do?
A: If your CGPA is not stated in your transcripts or diploma, you may leave it blank and continue with the form.
Q: Should I describe the content and focus of the course/s?
A: No. This form gives you the opportunity to specify how you satisfy each specific entry requirement through one or several of the courses stated on your transcript of records. Do not type anything other than the name/s of the course/s in the field/s and possible the page of the matching syllabus. Chalmers admissions will cross check the course/s with your provided syllabuses (course descriptions/learning outcome).
Q: I fulfil one of the course requirements by two or more different courses taken during my Bachelor, should I list all course titles in the same field?
A: Yes.
Q: My original transcripts are in a language other than English. Should I fill in the form in the original language or in English?
A: The names of the courses should be in English or Swedish. Alternatively use course codes, if they are listed at your transcript.
Q: My course does not have the same name as the one listed in the prerequisites for the programme I am applying to. What should I do?
A: The course/s that you refer to as fulfilling a given specific requirement do not need to have identical name/s. You do however need to be able to prove that the course content satisfies the requirement. This is done by submitting a syllabus as part of the required documents for a particular programme.
Q: What should I write in the different fields of the "Specific course requirement form"?
A: You should add all the course names of relevant courses, i.e. the courses from your transcript that you find fulfills the course requirements of the master's programme you are applying for.
Q: The form has a limit of 200 character for each requirement and my list of courses exceeds this. How should I proceed in this situation?
A: There is a limit of maximum 200 characters. Please keep your answers short and concise. Use abbreviations instead of the full name or the course code if necessary. The corresponding page numbers in your syllabi documents is helpful but not necessary. Prioritize the courses that do fulfill the requirement.
Q: Is it enough to just fill in the "Specific course requirement form" or do I have to submit anything else?
A: The form does not replace any of the required documentation listed at chalmers.se. You still need to submit all the required documents listed by Chalmers to your account at antagning.se or universityadmissions.se.
Q: Does the syllabus (course description and learning outcome) have to be issued by my university?
A: Read the information and instructions at Required documents section 4 at How to apply - from application to admission.
Q: May I translate the syllabus (course description and learning outcome) from the original language into English myself?
A: Read the information and instructions at Required documents section 4 at How to apply - from application to admission.
Q: Do I have to submit the syllabus (course description and learning outcome) for a course, if I have already filled in the course in the "Specific course requirement form"?
A: Yes, a syllabus for each of the courses in your transcript of records that may match a prerequisite is still a required document (when applying to Chalmers).
Read the information and instructions at Required documents section 4 at How to apply - from application to admission.
Q: Does the form apply to all master's programmes at Chalmers?
