All students who apply on time for a master’s programme, and who meet the general and specific entry requirements, compete with one another for the places that are available at Chalmers. Places are offered based on the merit ratings of the eligible applicants (also known as grade tariff). The merit rating is based on the grades achieved during the Bachelor education, and other factors that the university has chosen to consider.
More important is that the merit rating scale can vary between different programmes and universities, and you should therefore not pay too much attention to the merit value. As the number of applicants for each programme, and the merit rating of these applicants, changes from semester to semester, it is impossible to say what merit rating is needed for entry into specific programmes.
