On April 4th, Chalmers University of Technology held an open house event in conjunction with the annual Science Festival in Gothenburg. Nearly 90 curious gymnasium students and members of the public took the opportunity to learn more about quantum computers and quantum technology.
The morning session was dedicated to gymnasium students, while the evening was open to the public. Visitors received an introduction to quantum technology before being taken on a tour of the laboratories.
During the tour, participants saw how quantum computer processors and components are developed and manufactured, including how they communicate with each other. Additionally, fundamental research on quantum sensors and how large objects are better described by quantum physics than classical physics was presented.
The event was led by researchers and doctoral students from the division Quantum Technology at the department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience.
