Are you interested in Modern energy technologies? Healthcare? Digitalisation in sports? Open science or carbon capture? These subjects, and many more are covered in the upcoming Tracks courses this autumn, study period 1 and 2. Right now, no less than 14 courses are open for application.

The interdisciplinary Tracks courses can be used as elective courses to include in your programme, or as extra courses in addition to your ordinary studies. Tracks give students an opportunity to strengthen their CVs with more subject-specific courses that students can choose according to their own interests and needs.

“This autumn we have a wide range of courses, so everyone can find a course that suits them! There is a great variety of exciting subjects, but we can also present several courses within the energy sector - both regarding solar energy, batteries and energy systems, which is great fun as it is a highly topical area. In addition, competence regarding energy is sought after by the labor market right now", says Kristina Henricson Briggs.

Tracks courses do not belong to a specific programme or department. The courses are interdisciplinary and elective, open to Chalmers students from year 2, Masters students, PhD students and alumni.

Flexible courses with a strong community

Fredrik Özaras is a Tracks student who has taken the course Solar Energy: from Photons to Future Societal Impact.

“I am a mechanical engineer and I belong to the master programme in Industrial Ecology. I find it interesting with Track courses, mostly because they often are more specialized compared to the regular courses. The course I'm taking doesn't have too many participants either, so it's a more intimate environment with more discussions of high quality, then there usually is in the traditional courses. Tracks courses are also more flexible, and it is easier to have a personal interaction with the teachers. I am very happy with the course in general”.

In addition to the record number of courses this fall, Tracks also offers two summer courses focusing on entrepreneurship and engineering in a global context.
