Customised and open contract education
Open: Chalmers regularly offers courses that are open for registration. Examples of areas are: production, logistics and Lean, the organisation and improvement of healthcare, healthcare premises, applied life cycle thinking, and metal cutting.
Applied life cycle thinking
The life cycle perspective, understanding the environmental impacts of a product or service throughout the value chain, is gaining increased importance in business as well as in public sector and authorities.
Chemical process engineering
CPE, Centre for Chemical Process Engineering, promotes cooperation between industry and academia for development of the chemical engineering field. The centre includes companies in industries with specialization in chemistry, plastics, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical and equipment manufacturers.
CPE offers a two-day course in mathematical modeling. This course focuses on development and use of mathematical models in chemical process engineering. It offers a unique opportunity for professional engineers to learn the topic by a combination of theory lectures, supervised hands-on computer exercises as well optional home exercises between the sessions. Leading commercial tools (Matlab) and open source software (Julia and Python) are introduced.

The Chalmers Centre for Metal Cutting Research (MCR) offers university accredited professional education on machining and grinding technology – whether at Chalmers, at your company’s facilities or in a live virtual format. Engineers, process planners and machine operators take part in this training to gain basic and advanced knowledge in various subject areas. Course participants learn from Chalmers faculty and external experts who are leaders in their fields, from materials science to manufacturing engineering. The courses combine lectures and laboratory exercises.
*Excluding VAT (moms). Members of MCR & IGC are eligible for discounts on the registration fee. Please contact Philipp Hoier.
Tracks: challenge-driven courses in close collaboration with research, industry and society
Some of Chalmers' interdisciplinary Track courses are also available for those who are not students or alumni and want to develop their professional skills. This can be solved through Chalmers' offer of contract education.
