Employers who want to give their employees an opportunity for skills development can do so by paying for contract education. Some courses can give higher education credits while others give diplomas/certificates.

Customised and open contract education

Customised: Companies and organisations can make inquiries about courses to uppdragsutbildning@chalmers.se  It is also possible to contact a department or centre directly with a request.

Open: Chalmers regularly offers courses that are open for registration. Examples of areas are: production, logistics and Lean, the organisation and improvement of healthcare, healthcare premises, applied life cycle thinking, and metal cutting.

Applied life cycle thinking

The life cycle perspective, understanding the environmental impacts of a product or service throughout the value chain, is gaining increased importance in business as well as in public sector and authorities.

Chemical process engineering

CPE, Centre for Chemical Process Engineering, promotes cooperation between industry and academia for development of the chemical engineering field. The centre includes companies in industries with specialization in chemistry, plastics, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical and equipment manufacturers.

CPE offers a two-day course in mathematical modeling. This course focuses on development and use of mathematical models in chemical process engineering. It offers a unique opportunity for professional engineers to learn the topic by a combination of theory lectures, supervised hands-on computer exercises as well optional home exercises between the sessions. Leading commercial tools (Matlab) and open source software (Julia and Python) are introduced.
