
About MCR
The Chalmers Centre for Metal Cutting Research (MCR) was established in 2003 through the efforts of SKF and then-director Hans-Börje Oskarson. It belongs to the Department of Industrial and Materials Science and is associated with Chalmers Production Area of Advance. Professor Peter Krajnik is the director of MCR since 2016.

Collaborate with MCR
Chalmers MCR collaborates with more than 60 members, ranging from multinational corporations such as Sandvik Coromant, Volvo Group to SMEs represented by Skärteknikcentrum Sverige, among many, many others. Our members have access to the expertise of all partners in the various Chalmers research groups and the ability to implement joint research and learning activities.
