The Chalmers Centre for Metal Cutting Research (MCR) was established in 2003 through the efforts of SKF and then-director Hans-Börje Oskarson. It belongs to the Department of Industrial and Materials Science and is associated with Chalmers Production Area of Advance. Professor Peter Krajnik is the director of MCR since 2016.
The research at Chalmers MCR is carried out by the MCR-affiliated research groups in collaboration with our research-provider partners.
Chalmers MCR offers university accredited professional education on machining and grinding technology – whether at Chalmers, at your company’s facilities or in a live virtual format.
