General Relativity Theory

General relativity is a geometric theory for gravity described by a four dimensional manifold with a Lorentzian metric satisfying Einstein’s field equations.

The mathematical problems of general relativity have gained increasing attention in the geometry and analysis communities over the last decades with highly active research groups in many prominent institutions. The research in our group involves a variety of mathematical problems coming from the theory of black holes, Vlasov matter, elastic matter and general kinetic theory.

To handle these problems we combine advanced analysis techniques, geometric insights and computer algebra tools.
