This year's Arrhenius Plaque, one of Sweden's most prestigious chemistry awards, goes to Christian Ekberg, professor at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology.

In addition to the research that Christian Ekberg conducts in nuclear chemistry and industrial material recycling, his time and energy as the voice of science in debates and participation in radio and television spots are specifically mentioned in the motivation.
The Arrhenius plaque has been awarded by the Swedish Chemical Society since 1960. The award is presented annually to individuals who have distinguished themselves through outstanding scientific research in the field of chemistry and its frontier sciences or who have carried out valuable work for the benefit of the Swedish Chemical Society.
