The Swedish Security Service (Säpo) has raised the terrorism threat level to four on a five-point scale. Both Säpo's and the government's recommendations are that we should carry on with our daily lives as usual but remain vigilant about anything that deviates from the normal.
In light of the heightened terrorism threat level, students who are planning a trip abroad, regardless of the destination country, are urged to follow the travel recommendations provided by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
On the government's website, you can find the applicable recommendations for different countries. Also, make use of the respective embassy's travel information and register your stay abroad with Sweden Abroad's "Swedish List" before your departure (applicable only for people with Swedish ID number, personnummer).
If your trip abroad is made within the scope of your studies, a risk assessment should be made:
- For trips made during degree projects: Contact the examiner of your degree project.
- For trips made in courses: The course examiner will contact you.
- For students at Chalmers going out on an exchange: Your contact person for the exchange will contact you.
