This year's edition of the EuCNC & 6G Summit, held at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre in Gothenburg on June 6-9, has the theme "Connectivity for a sustainable world". The conference days are filled with presentations, workshops and panel discussions linked to research and innovations in 5g and 6g networks, fiber optic technology and satellite-based solutions.
The latest results from European research in communication and networks will be presented during the conference.
”In Europe we are in the lead when it comes to system research, where we help companies in the large ecosystem to achieve good standards,” says Tommy Svensson, Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, and responsible for the organisation on site.
According to Tommy Svensson, Europe kept pace until the launch of 4g, but has lost ground during 5g and faces the risk of falling behind when Asian countries, in particular, advance rapidly. In order to strengthen the conditions for the work ahead, the EuCNC & 6G Summit wants to offer a forum for different types of actors on the market to meet, discuss current issues and share their knowledge and insights.
”With 6g, we have the ambition to create an even deeper digitisation of society, like connected healthcare, but when the mobile industry wants to help with the major cooperation challenges, we need to build trust and show that we can do it in a sustainable way. An important part of that is to spread information to the industry, but also to the society in general,” says Tommy Svensson.
Therefore, a large exhibition is planned in parallel with the conference, where large as well as small and medium-sized companies have the opportunity to show off, present and discuss their technologies and products, and establish contacts with potential partners and customers. During the exhibition, there will also be a speakers corner, as an additional opportunity to share innovative ideas and success stories.
Registration for the exhibition closes on March 31 and April 14, respectively.
The event, which has the potential to attract close to 1,000 participants, is the result of a merger of two separate conferences in the telecom industry: EuCNC, which the European Commission used to organize, and 6G Summit, which originated in the Finnish 6g Flagship program.
