The Urban Freight Platform (UFP) is an initiative supported by Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) on urban freight research based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The UFP works as a facilitator of academic research on urban freight within the context of the logistics competence center Northern LEAD at University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. Our vision is to continue to develop cutting-edge research combining skills from various disciplines, make the urban freight research cluster function more effectively and ensure that the relevance and importance of urban freight is made accessible to a wider public.

The Urban Freight Platform seeks to develop and facilitate research that leads to efficient urban freight distribution practices that are in line with urban livability and sustainability goals.

The UFP fosters networking opportunities and provides a platform for collaboration between researchers and experts from multiple disciplines; between stakeholders from the private sector and the public sector; as well as between national and international universities.

As part of this commitment The UFP is engaged in disseminating and facilitating the implementation of transformative ideas that will enhance the sustainability and competitiveness of urban freight systems.
