Chalmers President Stefan Bengtsson's appointment extended

​Stefan Bengtsson's appointment as President and CEO of Chalmers University of Technology is now extended for another three years, following a decision by the University Board. The extension applies from 1 August 2021.
Stefan Bengtsson became President and CEO in 2015, with an initial appointment for six-years, ending on 31 July 2021. This is now extended by three years, to 31 July 2024.

“Stefan has led Chalmers’ operations successfully and I look forward to our continued collaboration,” says Torbjörn Holmström, Chair of the University Board.

“Through extending his appointment, we ensure continuity and good conditions for Chalmers to continue developing and conducting excellent research, world-class education and sustainable utilisation.

“I am proud of the renewed confidence the Board has shown in me, and look forward to carrying on working towards an even stronger Chalmers, together with all our employees and students,” says Stefan Bengtsson, President and CEO.

Stefan Bengtsson is a Professor of Solid-State Electronics. Before becoming President and CEO at Chalmers, he was Vice-Chancellor at Malmö University (2011–2015) and before that Vice-President (2007–2011) and Deputy CEO (2009–2011) at Chalmers.
