No matter who you are, you should have the opportunity to thrive and succeed in the tech industry – and at Chalmers. This was one of the key messages to the university’s students and staff during the #tecHER 2025 event, which was also live-streamed to a global audience.

The annual #tecHER event, by Volvo Group, has become an important source of inspiration for young individuals, women, and others, aspiring to grow and excel in technical careers. The theme of the day was "Own the Future," and the place for the event was right in the heart of student life at Chalmers’ campus Johanneberg.

Maria Elmquist, deputy president for leadership and equality, welcomed the live audience to Chalmers and talked about the university’s increased focus on combining academic excellence with a supportive working environment.

Many took the opportunity to watch the live broadcast and draw inspiration from leading women in the tech industry. The speakers joined either in person at Chalmers or remotely from various locations around the world. In engaging interviews and discussions, women openly shared their career stories, insights, and the strategies they have used to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

An exhibition in the Fuse facilities at Chalmers offered attendees the chance to mingle informally with the participants, gain inspiration and expand their networks. Exhibitors included researchers, doctoral and student organisations, as well as representatives from Volvo.
