Scalinq has for the second time earned a spot on Ny Teknik’s 33-list, which annually highlights Sweden’s most promising young tech companies. Since 2008, the list has recognized companies and is considered one of the country’s most prestigious awards for startups.
Scalinq, a spin-off from the researchh program WACQT, develops hardware solutions that make it easier to scale up quantum computers. The company’s technology enables the interconnection of hundreds of qubits – a crucial component for building high-performance quantum computers. These computers have the potential to revolutionize industries such as logistics, medicine, and materials research.
Motivation (2025): Scalinq has evolved from a research-focused startup into a global player with paying customers and a turnover of nearly 20 million SEK – without external venture capital. The company has also demonstrated that its solution works in practice and can be integrated into larger quantum computing systems, making it a key player in the ecosystem.
Motivation (2024): Last year, the focus was on technical potential. Scalinq was highlighted as a promising spin-off with a unique hardware solution that enables the interconnection of hundreds of qubits, which is essential for building the quantum computers of the future.
Ny Teknik’s 33-list is an institution within Swedish tech and serves as a springboard for companies with international potential. To qualify, companies must be younger than seven years, be based on proprietary technological innovation, and have the ability to scale globally.
