WACQT and WISE are now initiating a formal collaboration between the programs. The first action is a call for proposals for pilot projects to establish collaboration and prepare for future research. Planning is underway for a second call targeting larger projects.

The aim of these calls is to initiate, expand and strengthen the collaboration between WACQT and WISE researchers in the areas of quantum technology for materials science and materials science for quantum technology. In both cases a focus on sustainability is required.  Proposals must be within both WACQT and WISE scientific areas. Detailed information about the calls will be published and communicated in connection with the opening date. More information about the programs can be found at their websites WACQT and WISE.

Pilot projects

Pilot projects shall have a duration of maximum 1 year and a budget up to 1 MSEK (0,5 MSEK per program). Every project must include at least one principal investigator (PI) from each program, and the projects shall be jointly led by one PI from each program. The maximum budget for the Pilot project call is 2,5 MSEK per program, allowing up to 5 projects.

The call is planned to open on 27 October and close on 12 December 2025, at 14.00.

Projects are expected to start during the second quarter of 2026, at the latest, 1 June 2026.
