Vera podcast: It has been a vital part of the technological and economic development - and is at the same time a major environmental problem. But with new technology, the plastic of the future can become circular and be made from rubbish. So says Henrik Thunman, Professor at the Department of Energy Technology.

Today, only about ten per cent of all collected plastic waste is recycled, and the products made from mixed melted plastic are quite simple. At Chalmers, researchers disassemble the plastic at the micro level through gasification so that its smallest building blocks can be assembled into new products without waste and without limitations in quality.

The Vera podcast meets Henrik Thunman at the Chalmers Power Centre, a unique facility that attracts researchers from all over the world. Here, new technologies for a more sustainable future are developed in collaboration with industry and the public sector.
