Two battery researchers at Chalmers University of Technology have been awarded grants from the King Carl XVI Gustaf Foundation's 50th Anniversary Fund for Science, Technology and the Environment. The researchers Sajid Alvi and Johanna Xu are active at the Department of Physics and the Department of Industrial and Materials Science.
The King Carl XVI Gustaf 50th Anniversary Foundation for Science, Technology and the Environment was established in connection with the King's 50th birthday. Its purpose is to promote research, technological development and enterprise that contribute to the sustainable use of natural resources and the conservation of biodiversity. The scholarships will be awarded by the King at a reception at the Royal Palace on 10 June.
Of the thirteen scholarship recipients selected for 2024, two are active at Chalmers. Sajid Alvi receives a scholarship for advanced studies of new materials for more sustainable batteries, and Johanna Xu for research into batteries that both store energy and carry mechanical loads.
