As an Assistant Professor in Batteries at Chalmers, you can turn your scientific curiosity into ideas, your ideas into experiments, and your experiments into discoveries. 

Advancing batteries for a sustainable future  

Battery technologies are central to the transition towards electrified transport and sustainable energy systems. At Chalmers, we conduct research across the battery value chain, from materials and electrochemistry to modelling, diagnostics and control of battery systems. Through national initiatives such as COMPEL and close collaboration with industry, we develop knowledge and technologies that enable safer, more efficient and longer-lasting energy storage solutions for the future. 

The position is a five-year tenure-track appointment with a competitive start-up package including funding for personnel, equipment, and operational costs.You will also get relocation support, mentoring, and leadership training to support your development as an independent research leader and educator.

Particular emphasis for this position is placed on modelling, estimation and control of battery systems, including not only current lithium-ion chemistries but also next-generation technologies, as well as the integration of batteries in electrified energy and transport systems. The position will be primarily based at the department of Electrical Engineering, but the research will span several departments including but not limited to:
