You’ve probably already noticed that the Chalmers website has had a new look.
As of 20 April, the entire Chalmers Group adopts a new, unified visual identity. This change is part of the group’s overall strategy and represents a concrete step in strengthening the brand on its journey toward becoming a world-leading technical university.

Since 2022, Chalmers has been working toward an ambitious goal: achieving academic excellence at a top European level while continuing to lead in innovation and real-world impact. The group strategy is built on close collaboration across all parts of Chalmers, ensuring they reinforce one another. This collaboration now takes on a new form – a shared identity that makes Chalmers clearer, more cohesive, and stronger as a sender.

“Chalmers’ goal is to reach academic excellence at a top European level. To do so, we must be able to attract and retain the very best researchers and students from around the world. The world’s leading universities have one thing in common: they are clear about what they stand for. Our new shared identity reflects the Chalmers we are building – a university where research, education, and innovation reinforce one another, and where the entire group works toward a common vision,” says Martin Nilsson Jacobi, President and CEO of Chalmers University of Technology.

What does the new identity mean?

The new visual identity introduces shared principles for how Chalmers presents itself – across everything from logos and brand colors to templates, websites, and external platforms. The aim is to give the entire Chalmers Group a more consistent visual identity, strengthen the brand and increase brand recognition.

“The visual language reflects the forward momentum behind our increased ambitions and the meaning of our motto ‘Avancez,’ which defines our position. This is clearly visible in our new logos and in how Chalmers is presented across public channels,” says Ingrid Claesson, Head of Communications at Chalmers University of Technology.

The new identity applies to all wholly-owned entities

The new identity is now being rolled out gradually across all wholly-owned entities under the Chalmers Foundation, which includes the following: Chalmers Foundation – Chalmers University of Technology, Chalmers Ventures, Chalmers Fastigheter, and Chalmers Next Labs.
