Tim van der Hagen, until January this year Rector Magnificus of Delft University of Technology, was elected on 22 April to the University Board of Chalmers.
Van der Hagen, who obtained his doctorate in 1989 and was appointed Professor of Reactor Physics in 1999, served as Chairman of the Board of TU Delft from 2016 to 2026 and has combined this role with that of Rector Magnificus of TU Delft since January 2018. He has also previously served as Director of Reactor Institute Delft and later as Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at the same university.
TU Delft is among the world’s top 50 universities and is ranked thirteenth in Europe according to the QS university rankings.
