On 5 November, Chalmers will hold its Annual academic ceremony – the inaugural ceremony in a new tradition to honour the university.

Like several other institutions, Chalmers now has an annual celebration. It will honour the university and become a yearly ceremony on par with the Doctoral degree conferment ceremony and Inauguration of professors. The celebration will take place close to 5 November, the date when Chalmers School of Art and Crafts was inaugurated in 1829, with the first occasion being precisely on that date.

"With an annual academic ceremony, we at Chalmers now have a dedicated opportunity to gather and celebrate the fantastic work that has been ongoing here for almost 200 years and will continue to contribute to society's development for a long time to come. It is important to celebrate and feel pride together," says President Martin Nilsson Jacobi.

Awards and William Chalmers lecture

Employees, students, and friends of Chalmers are invited to the celebration, which will feature speeches from the President, musical entertainment, and the presentation of several awards.

This year, the awards include the Pedagogical Prize, the Areas of Advance award, the Chalmers Impact Award, and the Chalmers Equality Award.

The Annual Celebration will be held in RunAn at campus Johanneberg from 16:00 to 17:15, and after refreshments, there will also be an opportunity to listen to this year's William Chalmers lecture, which takes place the same evening.
