Chalmers assesses that the situation has returned to normal regarding both usage and IT security connected to Canvas. This follows the system owner, Instructure, addressing the security vulnerabilities in the platform. Sunet (the Swedish University Computer Network) and many other affected higher education institutions have reached the same conclusion.
This means that the system is now fully accessible to all students and teaching staff. Chalmers continues to monitor the situation closely and is coordinating any potential further measures within the Sunet network.
Chalmers encourages all users to exercise normal caution and remain vigilant. Do not share sensitive information in Canvas, and be attentive to unexpected or suspicious emails or messages. If anything appears unusual, please report it to abuse@chalmers.se
