Welcome to attend the ceremony where the Gothenburg Physics Center presents the Gothenburg Lise Meitner Award for 2023 to Nicola Spaldin, professor at ETH Zürich. Students are welcome to attend.

Award Ceremony

Carina Persson, chair of the prize committee, welcomes everyone and provides an introduction to this year's recipient. The award will be presented by Anders Palmqvist, Vice President of Research at Chalmers University of Technology and Max Petzold, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for digitalization and knowledge transfer at University of Gothenburg.

This year's laureate, Nicola Spaldin, will deliver a lecture titled "New materials for a new age."

In the vicinity of the lecture hall there will be a chance to mingle after the ceremony. Refreshments will be served.

Symposium

The following day, a symposium will be held to honour the laureate.

 

About the laureate and the award

The Gothenburg Lise Meitner Award is awarded by the Gothenburg Physics Centre to a scientist who has made a breakthrough discovery in physics.
