
The Chalmers Equality Award is an annual prize awarded to one or more employees or students in recognition of efforts to promote equality, diversity and inclusion at Chalmers. The prize of 30,000 SEK can be used for research, education, or other professional activities. The winner is announced in the autumn, and the award ceremony takes place in connection with Chalmers’ Annual Celebration.
Criteria for the award
Nominated candidates must meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Actively worked to strenghthen a work or study environment characterized by inclusion and equality.
- Developed or implemented initiatives that promote equality and diversity.
- Driven initiatives concerning working methods/policies that create more equal conditions.
- Through leadership and actions, served as a good role model for equality and inclusion.
- Actively engaged in menthorship aimed at strenthening equality and diversity.
How to nominate
The nomination period is open until 30 September 2025.
Students and employees, either individually or in groups, may nominate and be nominated for individual contributions or longer-term work and activities.
The Person(s) you nominate must be employees or students at Chalmers or one of the integrated departments with the University of Gothenburg. You are also allowed to nominate yourself.
The nomination must include
- A summary of the nominee’s activities/achievements, with concrete examples of contributions, projects, or results that distinguish the individual.
- A justification of why the individual should receive the award, clearly showing the significance of these achievements for Chalmers or society at large.
- A clear link to the established criteria for the award. The nomination must show how the nominee’s contributions fulfill one or more of the specified criteria.

The winner is chosen by a jury consisting of the Deputy President with responsibility for leadership and equality (chair), The Head of HR, and representatives from the Chalmers Student Union, the Gender Equality Initiative for Excellence (Genie), the doctoral student network Dr Genie and WISE.
