William Chalmers Lecture 2019: Minna Karstunen
"Gothenburg clay- the foundation of the future"
Welcome to one of the highlights of the autumn, the popular science William Chalmers lecture on November 5 at 18:00.
Minna Karstunen is a professor in the department of geology and geotechnology and leads the research group Geotechnology at Chalmers.
Minna will talk about sensitive clays, including Gothenburg clay, their formation, strange behavior and how they pose a natural hazard and a challenge for construction. With contemporary techniques involving special testing facilities and modeling, we can now begin to understand these strange and very challenging materials.
The lecture is held in English.
Everyone is welcome!
The William Chalmers Lecture is organized by the University in collaboration with the Chalmers Student Union and the Chalmers Engineers Association.
