CMSI offers four different types of support.
Analysis Services
CMSI performs analyses on behalf of researchers using established analytical methods and workflows.
Examples include:
Metabolomics
Lipidomics
Fatty acids
Organic acids
Small-molecule mass spectrometry
Suitable when you have samples and would like CMSI to perform the analysis.
Method Development
CMSI develops, adapts, validates, and transfers analytical methods for new scientific challenges.
Examples include:
New analytes
New sample matrices
Method optimization
Method validation
Method transfer
Feasibility studies
Suitable when no established analytical solution currently exists.
Instrument and Laboratory Access
Researchers may apply for access to CMSI laboratories and instruments to perform analyses independently.
Access may include:
Instrument training
Laboratory access
Support during method implementation
Data acquisition support
Suitable when an established analytical method already exists.
Scientific Consultation
CMSI staff provide advice on:
Study design
Analytical strategies
Metabolomics studies
Lipidomics studies
Method selection
Feasibility assessments
Grant applications
Suitable when you would like to discuss a project before deciding on the most appropriate analytical approach.
How to access CMSI services
CMSI supports a wide range of analytical and methodological projects, from routine analyses to advanced method development and instrument access.
All requests are submitted through the CMSI Order Portal.
To help us provide the most appropriate support, please select the form that best matches your needs.
What happens after submission?
CMSI reviews the request.
We may contact you to discuss the project in more detail.
We evaluate scientific relevance, technical feasibility, available resources, and expected timelines.
For projects requiring analytical work, a quotation and project plan will be provided where applicable.
Once the project is approved, work can begin.
Not sure which form to choose?
We encourage researchers to contact CMSI before submitting a request if there is uncertainty regarding analytical strategy or service selection.
In this case, we recommend submitting a Consultation and Meeting Request.
