<h4>A WGAN Based Method for Stochastic Filtering</h4>

<p>Abstract: This thesis investigates a special type of conditional Wasserstein Generative Adversarial Network (WGAN) for the filtering problem. It is based on approximating the filtering problem in weak form, i.e., approximating functionals of the filtering distribution itself. This offers an approximation of the WGAN loss function, which otherwise contains a difficult conditional expectation. The thesis contains preliminary evaluations of the method on one linear and one nonlinear problem. Results are primarily negative even though the model is demonstrated to somehow learn the first moment.</p>
