FP3 - Fusion Power Plant Platform - is a national collaborative platform for research, development, and capacity building in fusion energy. The project brings together leading Swedish research groups to advance the modelling and understanding of future fusion power plants, with a focus on integrated plasma physics and plasma–wall interactions.
By combining advanced simulation tools, materials research, and the education of the next generation of fusion scientists, FP3 strengthens Sweden’s role in the international effort to develop sustainable, fossil-free electricity production based on fusion energy.
The platform is open to academic and external partners and serves as a hub for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and long-term competence development in fusion power plant research.
Funding
FP3 – Fusion Power Plant Platform is funded by the Swedish Energy Agency (Energimyndigheten). The project is supported as part of Sweden’s national efforts to advance research, collaboration, and capacity building in fusion energy and future fossil-free electricity production.
This work was supported by the Swedish Energy Agency under grant number P2023-01345.
